November 4, 2000 was our first date. I asked Chris to preference and we had a BLAST! 10 years later we still kind of like each other.

Halloween continued
One more night of trick-or-treating, carving pumpkins and haunting and we are done! What a great year! It turned out to be a rainy sort of night, but that's ok.
Our little angel...sorry I had a hard time getting a descent picture. She's wearing her pjs under her costume because it was COLD and RAINY!
My little alien...isn't he cute?
And for you grandmas here is a full length pic of Aly.
Pumpkin carving!
And Alyssa kept asking for "mummy wrapped hotdogs" so I made these up. I guess she heard me mention the idea to someone once and retained it in her memory for tonight. She was rather insistant, but I think they turned out alright.

Halloween begins...
Halloween is a lot like Christmas around here. We've got parties to go to all month long a list of traditions that we HAVE to get to. Its a lot of work but a lot of fun! So far we've already had our couple's Halloween party, Kayla had a party with her therapy group at KoTM, the library wee-reads had a party on Thursday, and today there was a Halloween parade and party at Alyssa's preschool, trick-or-treating at Daddy's office, and a ward trunk-or-treat with Grandmama Williams. We've also made and decorated cookies, learned Halloween songs, and picked out pumpkins! And of course Mommy made all the costumes (yay!)

Lovely Lady
Cycling through Dishwashers
Our fancy Maytag fried its control panel a couple of weeks ago, at the ripe old age of 3! I'm a little miffed that this happened, and even more annoyed that it cost more to fix than the machine was worth! Luckily I was able to find a steal on KSL, a stainless steal bosch for a good price. I guess its true that you can't stop bad things from happening but if you play your cards right you just might come out on top.

And the Dude Man because its been a while...
1st Day of Preschool
Alyssa started preschool on Tuesday. She's attending Valley View Elementary in the mornings, 4 days a week! Alyssa loves it. When I picked her up the first day and asked how it went she said "awesome!" Day 2 was "the best day ever" and day 3 she said, "I'll show you all about it when we get home, mom." So far it seems to be a big success. The only surprise is what a fashionista she has turned into- she really cares about what she wears each day!
Labor Day Weekend
We had a busy weekend! We went to Layton for the weekend for Ryker Colton Fry's baby blessing, then visited Mike and Mindy and Christopher's family on Sunday. Monday we spent at Lagoon as one last hurrah to summer before school started! The girls had a great time and mom's ready to the summer to be over and a schedule to begin.

Announcing his emminence Carter William Wood!
Carter William Wood was born June 30, 2010 at 9:06 am. He was 9 lbs 10 oz and 20 inches long. He is very handsome and looks just like his Daddy! Alyssa and Mikayla couldn't be more excited and Mom is doing great! It was an exhausting 7 hours of NATURAL childbirth but it paid off big! We appreciate all the well wishes and will be home soon. Visitors welcome anytime!

Kayla's Birthday
Saturday we celebrated Mikayla's 2nd birthday with family at Wheeler Farm. Why the farm? Because this particular 2 year old is enamored with ducks and there is no better place to feed ducks in Utah than at Wheeler farm. We got to see other animals too but the hit of the party was Mikayla's duck cake, which despite its problems (this was the second cake I made, and it fell apart in the car) tasted fabulous! Happy birthday baby girl!

Deep in the Heart of Texas
What they say really is true...everything really is bigger in Texas! We finally got to go down to Rebecca's parent's new home in San Antonio and had a WONDERFUL vacation visiting with them. Although the trip got off to a rough start (Mikayla woke up the morning of our flight throwing up) we had a great time. Mom and Dad's new house is beautiful (an LARGE) with great guest accommodations. If anyone needs a place to stay in San Antonio I highly recommend the Williams Bed and Breakfast. I give it 4 stars, with excellent food and the most comfortable bed I've slept on away from home I think ever. And you can't beat the service!
We went to HEB which doesn't sound exciting but I now u
nderstand what everyone was talking about. HEB is a grocery store b
ut its HUGE and they really do have amazing tortillas made right there in the store! We went to the outlets with Mom (they have 2 right next to each other because everything has to be larger than life) where we got some great deals, and then Mom took us to see the San Antonio temple. Although its a mini temple it is beautiful, especially the stained glass. And you can't beat the view.
Friday we woke up to flash floods! Because it doesn't do it often but every once in a while the rain pours so hard you get flash floods. And thunderstorms! We braved the weather (really, you couldn't see anything) and drove into downtown San Antonio for lunch and a trip to the Witte Museum which had a traveling dinosaur exhibit Alyssa was excited to see. The Witte also has a great science hands-on tree house t
o explore and lots of other exhibits. Alyssa was in heaven!
Saturday Chris and Grandpa took Alyssa to the zoo where Aly loved the butterfly house the best. Mikayla enjoyed going to feed the ducks at Duck Pond Park with Grandpa on Sunday.
Monday we went to the Bass Pro Shop (think Cabelas on steroids- this IS Texas) and then on Tuesday we did a boat tour of the riverwalk.
We came home Wednesday, so you think we didn't do anything but Aly had time to make cookies with Grandma and learn about mixing colors.
We had a great time and can't wait to go back!
