Alyssa's Princess Tea Party
For her third birthday Alyssa decided she wanted a princess party, but not just any princess party, a princess tea party. So we sent out invitations in the shape of a conical pincess hat inviting 4 of her favorite princesses to join her for tea- Liesel, Reagan, Kyana and Willow. The girls arrived in princess costumes and we added scarves, gloves, shoes, jewelry and purses. Once they were properly attired we sat at the table for our tea. We had pink lemonade, petit fours, finger sandwiches, grapes and chocolate covered strawberries. The girls liked the food but ate suprisingly little of it! Then it was craft time. Each girl decoated a tiara (because all princesses need a tiara) and then they decorated little jewelry boxes to take home with them. And finally it was time for the royal ball. I put on princess music and the girls BEGGED to dance, although most of them were too shy to dance in front of their friends! Anyway, then the parents and Grandparents arrived and it was time for cake and ice cream. Alyssa picked a pink princess cake made of strawberry cake. She was so insistant on the princess being pink she got mad when I tried using a little bit of white as an accent. Oh well! The party was a hit and I know at least Aly had a great time and that's all I really wanted. (though it was really fun to plan for her!)
